1913-05-12 (145lbs) Ray Bronson nd-l pts 10 Young Denny, Orleans AC, New Orleans, Louisiana, USA. In a fight made at 145lbs, Bronson held on to his title claim despite being shaded by Denny, who almost had his man out in the second round before dropping him with a right cross to the jaw in the third. Although Bronson occasional showed up well on the inside, Denny hurt him virtually in every round with heavy rights, and in the final session he staggered the title claimant three times before the bell came to his rescue.

Having successfully defended his claim to the American title, the following December Bronson sailed for Australia.
