1914-01-01 (158lbs) Jack Dillon nd-w pts 10 Gus Christie, Delaware Street Arena, Indianapolis, Indiana, USA. The Indianapolis Star reported that both men were down to the required 158lbs, thus putting Dillon’s title claim at the weight at risk. While Dillon proved to everyone present that he could be comfortable at 158lbs, he was seldom forced to exert himself and was easily contented, as was Christie, to clinch rather than work for openings. After damaging Christie’s right eye in the fourth round and blasting in power punches to the head it was expected that Dillon would move up a gear, but it just did not materialise. Christie was obviously intent on staying the course when they entered the latter stages and although Dillon opened up again in the last two sessions he was unable to bring his opponent down.
