1914-07-03 (160lbs) Jack Dillon w pts 10 Sailor Ed Petroskey, Association Park, Kansas City, Missouri, USA. The Kansas City Star gave this one at 160lbs, carrying a heavy forfeit if not adhered to, thus putting Dillon’s title claim at risk. Winning virtually every round to take an easy points verdict, Dillon found Petroskey a tough man to finish off despite having him down with a left uppercut in the seventh. Up until then Petroskey had been successful in blocking many of Dillon’s best efforts, but from there onwards he took punch after punch as the latter let loose and showed a remarkable ability in shipping punishment.

Another fight for Dillon where the opponent was inside 158lbs came against Howard Morrow (nd-w pts 6 at the Fuller Theatre, Kalamazoo, Michigan on 12 August).
