1914-10-01 Sam Langford nd-drew 10 Joe Jeannette, Stadium AC, Manhattan, NYC, New York, USA. In a contest between two fighters who knew each other too well, and with Langford’s ‘black’ title claim at stake, for eight rounds it was a hugging match. It was clear that neither man wished to exert himself or take unnecessary risks, and even though Jeannette scored well with the jab in the last two sessions it was not enough to persuade the majority of the press to give him the advantage.
