1914-10-27 (118lbs) Kid Williams nd-w pts 10 Dutch Brandt, Broadway SC, Brooklyn, NYC, New York, USA. Made at 118lbs, Brandt (116¾) gave Williams (116¾) a tough fight, and while dropping six rounds according to the press he was the one who finished the stronger. There were no knockdowns.

Williams then risked his title claim in two six-round no-decision fights against Young Fred Diggins (nd-w co 3 at the Olympia AC, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on 30 November) and Joe O’Donnell (nd-w rsc 3 at the National AC, Philadelphia on 19 December).
