1914-12-01 (142lbs) [[Harry Stone]] w pts 12 [[Gilbert Gallant]], Atlas AA, Boston, Massachusetts, USA. Referee: Patsy Haley. In what was a close bout with Stone’s 142lbs title claim on the line, there was very little good work and many in the crowd thought that Gallant deserved a share of the spoils on the basis that he was more attack-minded. Stone was happy to box on the back foot, showing a sound defence when needed, but was unable to hurt his opponent.
