1915-01-27 (142lbs) Harry Stone nd-w pts 10 Frankie Nelson, Brown’s Gym, Queens, NYC, New York, USA. Although the New York Herald reported this to be a lightweight contest, it was Stone’s 142lbs title claim that was really at risk. Stone showed up well against the rushing, slugging and unscientific Nelson, who made all the running but was unable to do any damage. Despite Stone handing out a boxing lesson, hitting Nelson whenever and wherever he pleased, he showed such little power that the latter finished almost as strong as when he started.
