1915-01-30 (142lbs) Kid Graves nd-l pts 10 Jack Britton, Broadway AC, Brooklyn, NYC, New York, USA. Although Graves (142) was more than three pounds heavier than Britton (139) both men were inside 142lbs at ringside, thus putting the former’s title claim at that weight on the line. Britton forced the fight from the opening bell, his left jabs and right uppercuts being his most effective weapons, while Graves was at his best in the fifth, sixth and seventh rounds. At the end of the contest most scribes thought that Britton’s cleaner work entitled him to the press decision. There were no knockdowns recorded.
