1915-08-24 (142lbs) Harry Stone nd-w pts 10 Fighting Fitzpatrick, Wallace AC, Queens, NYC, New York, USA. With both men inside 142lbs, Stone’s title claim at the weight was at stake and although Fitzpatrick (140) tore in, throwing punches from both hands for much of the fight, at no time did he look like flooring his man. Showing great skill and speed, for much of the time Stone (136) smeared Fitzpatrick’s features with the left and snapped in rights to the jaw before adroitly moving out of range. The Queen’s Chronicle reported that Fitzpatrick was the recipient of a severe lacing in the eighth before coming back strongly to mix it with Stone right up to the final bell.
