1915-09-04 (160lbs) [[Les Darcy]] w pts 20 [[Billy Murray]], Baker’s Stadium, Sydney, Australia. Referee: Harold Baker. Living up to his reputation as a tough opponent, Murray (160) gave it his best shot but was just not good enough to stop Darcy (159) from retaining the Australian version of the 160lbs title. According to the Sydney Telegraph Darcy probably won 16 of the 20 rounds, although having battered Murray for long periods he was unable to finish him off. To his credit, Murray showed an amazing capacity to soak up punishment, even coming back strongly in the last few sessions to pose the odd problem.
