30 May (118lbs) Kid Williams nd-w rtd 7 (10) Benny McCoy, Holliday Street Theatre, Baltimore, Maryland, USA. A no-decision defence of his title claim at 118lbs saw Williams subjecting McCoy to a terrific lacing thoughout the opening six rounds. Eventually, in the seventh, his concentrated work on the body brought about a retirement when McCoy’s seconds threw the towel in.
