1919-05-12 (118lbs) Pete Herman nd-w pts 10 Young Solberg, The Arena, Syracuse, New York, USA. Reported in the Syracuse Post-Standard as a billed 118lbs title fight Herman, who failed to weigh in at ringside having earlier made the weight, hammered Solberg (117½) for seven rounds while handing out severe body punishment. Whether it was at range or in the slugging stakes Herman was Solberg’s master, and although the latter came back somewhat in two of the three remaining sessions the champion was content to ease off.
