On this date, Memphis Pal Moore, who was claiming the 116lbs title, was defeated at that weight by the world flyweight champion, Jimmy Wilde. With 116lbs not recognised in England as a championship weight and Wilde not interested in pursuing a claim the weight class disappeared.
