1926-06-03 Tod Morgan w rtd 6 (15) Steve Kid Sullivan, Ebbets Field, Brooklyn, NYC, NY, USA - NY/CALIFORNIA/PENN. Referee: Jim Crowley. Coming to the ring with a badly damaged nose did Sullivan (128½) no favours whatsoever and Morgan (128½) was quick to take advantage of the situation, battering him into a bloody mess and forcing the referee to call a halt at 2.05 of the sixth round. By that time, the hard-punching Morgan had proved to be out of the top drawer, his ability to feint Sullivan onto punches, his brilliant execution of the left hook to the body and his evasiveness being a joy to behold as he successfully defended his newly won title against a former champion.
