26 March [[Bud Taylor]] drew 10 [[Tony Canzoneri]], [[The Coliseum, Chicago, Illinois]], USA - NBA. Referee: [[Joe Choynski]]. Making his first defence, Taylor (118) just about held Canzoneri (117) off in a savage, fast and furious fight in which the referee and two judges failed to find a winner. It was Canzoneri’s cleaner punching against the aggressive Taylor, whose left eye was badly swollen due to him rarely bothering to avoid the jab. At no time did the men ever stop trading blows, but on the face of it Taylor appeared lucky to keep the [[NBA]] version of the title.
