1928-01-03 Newsboy Brown w pts 10 Johnny McCoy, Olympic Auditorium, Los Angeles, California, USA - CALIFORNIA. Referee: Jack Kennedy. Although McCoy (112) started well enough and finished the tenth strongly, the rounds in between generally belonged to Brown (111¾). To his credit the champion did his best to hold Brown up, but the latter, proving to be a strong, tough battler who would not be denied, well deserved the referee’s verdict.
