1929-03-02 Emile Pladner w co 1 (15) Frankie Genaro, Winter Velodrome, Paris, France - NBA/IBU. Referee: Henri Bernstein. An all-action, two-fisted, hard-hitting little fighter who could take a good shot himself, Pladner (111¾) laid Genaro (110¾) low with a solid right to the pit of the stomach that knocked all the stuffing out of the NBA champion.

With just two losses to Johnny Hill blemishing his 44-fight record, Pladner was also proclaimed by the IBU as world flyweight champion on 20 March. Incidentally, with the finish timed at 58 seconds this was the shortest world title fight recorded at that moment in time.
