1933-01-13 Freddie Miller w pts 10 Tommy Paul, The Stadium, Chicago, Illinois, USA - NBA. Referee: Tommy Thomas. With just six defeats in 113 contests prior to meeting the NBA champion, the skilful box-fighting southpaw, Miller (125), got off to a bad start before steadying himself in the fourth round. At that stage Miller began to block the champion’s right-hand thrusts and bang in straight lefts to even up the score by round eight before coming with a rush to take the unanimous decision. In the face of the attack, Paul (124), by then extremely tired, was forced to retreat and the verdict was a popular one.
