1933-02-20 Battling Shaw w pts 10 Johnny Jadick, The Coliseum, New Orleans, Louisiana, USA - LOUISIANA. Referee: Jimmy Moran. Scorecards: 4-3, 4-3, 4-4. Starting well with a great long left jab, Jadick (135), weighing inside the lightweight limit, took the fight to Shaw (136), before being forced to defend more and more as the challenger worked at close quarters and used effective overarm rights. Although Jadick was cut on the left eye in the sixth and shaken up in the tenth he fought back well and the majority decision in Shaw’s favour could have gone either way.

In another so-called title defence, despite his defeat at the hands of Sammy Fuller, Jack Kid Berg was outscored over ten rounds at the Royal Albert Hall, Kensington, London, England on 27 April by Cleto Locatelli. Billed by promoter Jeff Dickson as a championship defence for the Englishman, it was not supported by the BBBoC and the title was never mentioned again as far as Locatelli was concerned.
