1936-02-10 Babe Risko w pts 10 Tony Fisher, Laurel Gardens, Newark, New Jersey, USA - NY/NBA. Referee: Whitey Healey. Scorecard: 8-1. Failing to add to his reputation in front of a disappointed crowd, the champion fought crudely at times, looking stiff and wild with little control. Although Risko (159¾), cut over the left eye in the third from a clash of heads, did enough to warrant the referee’s decision when concentrating on the body, Fisher (159¾), not living up to to expectation, took a beating throughout.

Risko’s next defence would be against Freddie Steele, a hard-hitter who could also box when needed. Steele well warranted his title chance, having beaten Risko (w pts 10 at the Civic Ice Arena, Seattle, Washington on 24 March) and Fisher (w pts 10 at the same venue on 28 April) in his last two contests.
