1937-10-05 [[Maurice Holtzer]] w pts 15 [[Phil Dolhem]], Exhibition Hall, Algiers, Algeria - IBU. With the European featherweight champion, Holtzer, virtually ignored when it came to world title fight reckoning, the IBU authorised this European championship contest to also carry world title status. The smaller man, Holtzer immediately went for the body, only to be boxed off with snapping lefts to the face and the use of good footwork. Although Dolhem took some heavy blows to the body in the third round, he came back well with solid jabs in the fourth and fifth, but Holtzer would not be denied and after three even sessions he opened up in the ninth. From there on in it was all Holtzer as he attacked from all angles with uppercuts from head to body, and after the 12th he increased his advantage to end quite fresh.
