1940-06-17 Little Dado drew 10 Little Pancho, Civic Auditorium, San Francisco, California, USA - CALIFORNIA. Referee: Jack Downey. Although Dado was recognised by the NBA, this contest was authorised by the Californian Boxing Commission for their version of the title, prior to the State joining the NBA on 7 September 1941. At the final bell the referee’s decision met with howls of disapproval when a draw was announced, as Pancho (111) appeared to have done more than enough to warrant the decision over the aggressive, hard-hitting Dado (111). It had been a super fast and viciously contested bout, with Dado unable to make his extra power pay off as the clever Pancho negated his every move.
