1943-07-04 [[David Kui Kong Young]] w rsc 8 (12) [[Little Dado]], The Stadium, Honolulu, Hawaii - TBC. Referee: Willie Whittle. This was yet another successful defence of the Territorial Boxing Commission's version of the world title for Young (118), who was in the best shape of his life as he went all out to destroy Dado (116½) in quick time. Using the right jab to soften his man up, aided by the occasional left cross, Young was in total control by the seventh and on opening up it was clear to see that this would not be going the distance. In the eighth, Dado, who was dropped by a terrific left, somehow managed to beat the count but was wide open to more of the same and following three further solid blows to the jaw the referee intervened.
