1943-07-04 David Kui Kong Young w rsc 8 (12) Little Dado, The Stadium, Honolulu, Hawaii - TBC. Referee: Willie Whittle. This was yet another successful defence of the Territorial Boxing Commission's version of the world title for Young (118), who was in the best shape of his life as he went all out to destroy Dado (116½) in quick time. Using the right jab to soften his man up, aided by the occasional left cross, Young was in total control by the seventh. In the eighth Dado was dropped by a terrific left, and although he somehow managed to beat the count when Young followed up with three further solid blows to the jaw the referee intervened.
