1947-03-05 Gus Lesnevich w co 1 (15) Billy Fox, Madison Square Garden, Manhattan, NYC, New York, USA - WORLD. Referee: Frank Fullam. Regardless of the fact that Lesnevich (175) was having difficulty making the weight he was still far too good for the hapless Fox (172¼), who had been given a title shot despite having already been beaten by him just over a year earlier. This time round Lesnevich took just 118 seconds to finish Fox off after dropping the challenger three times with clubbing right hands to the jaw, the final knockdown seeing the latter being counted out after making a big effort to get to his feet in time before toppling over again.
