Making his second defence, Brown (134¼) began to take over from the halfway stage when his punches seemed to have more effect on the clever Zulueta (133¾) than before. Prior to then the contest had been fairly level, with the Cuban possibly ahead, but by the end of the 11th Brown, carrying a cut over the left eye, had pulled away. The 12th round saw Zulueta taking a bit of a hiding as Brown cut loose with both hands and in the 13th a cracking right hook to the head dropped the challenger for ‘nine’.
