1957-12-07 Pascual Perez w co 3 (15) Young Martin, Boca Juniors Stadium, Buenos Aires, Argentina - WORLD. Coming out fast, Martin (112) gave the champion all he could handle in the first two rounds, but then the lights went out at 2.05 of the third. The challenger’s southpaw stance presented Perez (108¼) with no real problems and was made to measure for the right hand that put him down for the full count. On 22 March 1958 at the Moron Sports Club, Buenos Aires Perez knocked out Ricardo Valdez, who scaled less than 112lbs, in the eighth round of a non-title contest. In future all of Perez’s non-championship opponents would contractually declare weights in excess of the class limit.
