1960-03-16 [[Flash Elorde]] w co 7 (15) [[Harold Gomes]], Araneta Coliseum, Manila, Philippines - NBA. Referee: Barney Ross. The southpaw challenger set about Gomes (128½) virtually from the opening bell, finding his rival easy to hit with either hand before dropping him for ‘four’ with a solid right in the fifth round. Gomes had very little left after struggling through the sixth and was soon on the floor in the seventh as Elorde (130) caught him with lefts and rights. After getting up he was quickly put down again, this time for a count of ‘five’ before more rights and lefts sent him to his knees where he was counted out on the 1.50 mark.
