1961-06-27 Pone Kingpetch w pts 15 Mitsunori Seki, Kuramae Arena, Tokyo, Japan - WORLD. Referee: Cheaur Chaksuraks. Scorecards: 147-138, 147-138, 144-145. Although Seki (112) started well, employing an accurate left jab, Kingpetch (111¾) proved to be the stronger of the two when using sustained attacks to the body which eventually paid dividends as the challenger slowed towards the end.

Scheduled to defend against Kyo Noguchi on 23 March 1962, it was moved on to May after Kingpetch suffered an injury to his right hand just days before the fight was due to take place.
