1961-10-31 Johnny Caldwell w pts 15 Alphonse Halimi, The Arena, Wembley, London, England - EBU. Referee: Porfirio Sanz Marin. In a fight that failed to live up to expectation, there being far too much holding, Caldwell (117) again received the referee’s decision, but there was only any real action in the latter rounds when Halimi (117½) realised the chance to win back his old title was slipping away from him. At that stage, the Frenchman presented a danger with the right uppercut, but Caldwell shrewdly kept out of harm's way, putting daylight between himself and his opponent as he boxed his way to victory.
