1962-10-20 [[Denny Moyer]] w pts 15 [[Joey Giambra]], Memorial Coliseum, Portland, Oregon, USA - WBA. Referee: Sonny Liston. Scorecards: 149-144, 148-146, 146-144. Getting off to an early lead, Moyer sent out the left jab for several rounds until Giambra came into the fight in the fifth and pushed on until the ninth saw the tide turn in the youngster’s favour. As Giambra tired so Moyer came on strong and although the 31-year-old veteran rallied in the 11th, from thereon it was the latter who took control through to the final bell.
