1963-02-16 Flash Elorde w pts 15 Johnny Bizzarro, Rizal Coliseum, Manila, Philippines - WBA/WBC. Referee: Irineo Gallego. Scorecards: 74-64, 72-68, 72-65. In a hard-hitting affair with no knockdowns, the southpaw champion knew a little too much for Bizzarro (129½) but was made to fight all the way. The first nine rounds were fairly even, but after Bizzarro had a good tenth Elorde (130) came on strong on the scorecards in the next four sessions, cutting the American over the left eye and generally landing the better quality punches. Although the 15th saw Bizzarro pick up the pace, looking for a kayo, he had left it too late but was not disgraced.
