1963-04-29 Ralph Dupas w pts 15 Denny Moyer, Municipal Auditorium, New Orleans, Louisiana, USA - WBA. Referee: Pete Giarusso. Scorecards: 9-4, 8-5, 6-7. The slow-starting champion was puzzled early on by the bobbing-and-weaving tactics employed by Dupas (151), and by the time he had worked his man out it was too late for him to turn the fight around. It was the body attacks that won the fight for Dupas, who was far more aggressive than normal, as he moved from side to side before jumping in with both hands to tie Moyer (154) up. With neither man in difficulty, despite Moyer finishing strongly with solid rights to the head to win two of the last three sessions he effectively left it far too late.
