1963-11-16 [[Flash Elorde]] w disq 11 (15) [[Love Allotey]], Araneta Coliseum, Manila, Philippines - WBA/WBC. Referee: Jamie Valencia. Having lost to Elorde in a hard-hitting non-title ten rounder a few months previously, when Allotey was brought back for a crack at the title the fight was every bit as brutal as their earlier go. Using every trick in the book, Allotey (128) made life extremely difficult for Elorde (130), who had his hands full warding off elbows and wayward blows coming his way while getting in solid southpaw shots of his own. The fight saw Allotey disqualified after 36 seconds of the 11th round had elapsed when Elorde, who was leading on two of the scorecards, had been butted again and again.
