1965-11-01 Ernie Terrell w pts 15 George Chuvalo, Maple Leaf Gardens, Toronto, Canada - WBA. Referee: Sammy Luftspring. Scorecards: 72-65, 73-65, 69-65. After building up a good points lead, his reach advantage enabling him to score with solid left jabs to head and body, the WBA champion spent the last few rounds fighting hold on to what he had as Chuvalo (206) surged forward. At the end of the fight Chuvalo complained bitterly about the decision, while Terrell (206) accused the Canadian of intentionally butting him, opening up a bad cut under his left eye in the 14th and continually treading on his feet. There were no knockdowns.
