1967-09-14 Raul Rojas w pts 15 Kang-Il Suh, Olympic Auditorium, Los Angeles, California, USA - CALIFORNIA. Referee: John Thomas. Scorecards: 12-3, 13-6, 14-5. Defending the Californian version of the title, Rojas (130) took up the offensive from the opening bell with solid left hooks and heavy rights to both head and body to batter the gallant Suh (130) throughout. Suh was dropped for a mandatory ‘eight’ count in the fourth and nearly went down again in the sixth before a hard right to the head decked him in the eighth. Both men were cut, Suh under the right eye in the 11th and Rojas under the right optic just prior to the final bell, but had the latter’s cut occurred earlier it could have changed the course of the fight. With the fight in the bag at the end of the tenth, Rojas coasted the next four sessions before Suh made one last-ditch effort. Rojas relinquished the Californian version of the title on becoming the Californian recognised world featherweight champion on 14 December.
