1967-11-25 Willie Ludick w pts 15 Carmelo Bossi, Ellis Park Rugby Stadium, Johannesburg, South Africa - SOUTH AFRICA. In a return match, this time for the South African recognised version of the world title, the contest ran on similar lines to their previous meeting (over ten rounds) just seven weeks earlier. Ludick (146¼) started fast, taking the opening two sessions, before Bossi (146½), the European champion, came on to connect with hard rights that often shook the South African southpaw up. The only knockdown came in the 11th when Bossi was caught by a left and slipped over, but in the 13th it was Ludick who was in trouble, when hit repeatedly by right hands to head and body. The last two sessions saw both men going toe-to-toe and it was Ludick, who had produced the better work in the middle rounds, especially with the left hand, who got the verdict.
