1969-01-23 [[Bob Foster]] w rsc 1 (15) [[Frank DePaula]], Madison Square Garden, Manhattan, NYC, New York, USA - WORLD. Referee: John LoBianco. This one was all over at 2.17 of the first round after Foster (171½) had enforced the three-knockdown rule. Having being dropped by a left to the head and a right to the body in the opening minute, Foster got up without a count and immediately decked DePaula (173) with a right to the temple. Although DePaula was on his feet almost immediately, a battery of blows to head and body had him over again, and he was put down for the final time after being measured by a series of solid left hooks and finished off by a right to the head.  The unfortunate challenger had just two more fights before being gunned down in a gang fight and dying on 14 September 1970.
