1971-06-26 Bruno Arcari w rsc 9 (15) Enrique Jana, Palermo Sports Palace, Sicily, Italy - WBC. Referee: Georges Gondre. After surprising the southpaw champion with his powerful attacks immediately following the bell, Jana (137¾) dropped him in the second round and cut him over the right eye in the fifth, before being found wanting himself. In a boxing sense, Arcari (139½) was a cut above Jana and as the latter stormed in, time and again he was swiftly countered by solid hooks and uppercuts. Although still dangerous, by the fifth Jana was showing the effects of battle with swellings over both eyes and while he bravely fought on for a while after 45 seconds of the ninth the referee had seen enough and the brave Argentinian was pulled out.
