1971-10-10 Bruno Arcari w co 10 (15) Domingo Barrera, Sports Palace, Genoa, Italy - WBC. Referee: Teddy Waltham. Having gone close to winning the WBA title earlier in the year, Barrera (139) was given a crack at the WBC crown worn by Arcari (140) in what would be a battle of southpaws. In charge most of the way, especially with infighting exposing his crude opponent, Arcari really got on top in the fifth round as he caught the onrushing Barrera with heavy rights and lefts. By the ninth Barrera was on the verge of going down several times as he was forced to survive a battering, and following a further bombardment of heavy blows in the tenth he finally sunk to the floor to be counted out.
