1971-10-26 Vicente Rondon w rsc 12 (15) Gomeo Brennan, Convention Hall, Miami, Florida, USA - WBA. Referee: Eddie Eckert. Taking the fight to Rondon (175) from the opening bell, the challenger was well in the fight during the first five rounds, scoring with sharp left jabs to the head and banging in right hands. In the fifth, Brennan (167½) had to cope with his left eye beginning to swell and by the 11th it was closed shut. From the fifth onwards Rondon began to take control of the fight, his solid right uppercuts from close range always bothering Brennan, who never really found a way of avoiding them. With the eye causing real problems for Brennan he was given one more round, the 12th, before the doctor advised the referee to pull him out at the end of the session.
