1972-06-10 [[Bruno Arcari]] w co 12 (15) [[Joao Henrique]], Sports Palace, Genoa, Italy - WBC. Referee: Harry Gibbs. Defending his title against Henrique (139½) for the second time, Arcari (139½) was under some pressure during the opening three rounds as the challenger looked for an early win, but came back well with solid body punches. As the fight wore on the southpaw champion continued to get on top, despite having a few rocky moments in the fifth, and in the ninth he repeatedly belaboured Henrique on the ropes to further weaken him. Although Henrique gamely continued to fight back, he was subjected to more of the same as Arcari stepped up the pace and in the 12th, having been given another heavy pounding, a left hook dropped him for the full count. The finish was timed at 2.15.
