1973-05-17 Chartchai Chionoi w rsc 4 (15) Fritz Chervet, National Stadium, Bangkok, Thailand - WBA. Referee: Jack Sullivan. Right from the onset Chionoi (108¾), who won the WBA title left vacant when Masao Ohba was killed in a car crash on the result, made the running, working from head to body and putting Chervet (108¼) under constant pressure. Although swollen under the left eye, the Swiss fighter, who claimed he had been butted, decided to mix it in the fourth round and it was not long before a solid right had opened a bad cut over his eyebrow, thus forcing the fight to be halted before the bell went for the fifth.
