1973-05-17 Chartchai Chionoi w rsc 4 (15) Fritz Chervet, National Stadium, Bangkok, Thailand - WBA. Referee: Jack Sullivan. Right from the onset Chionoi (108¾), who won the WBA title left vacant when Masao Ohba was killed in a car crash, made the running, working from head to body and putting Chervet (108¼) under constant pressure. Although swollen under the left eye from what he considered to have been a butt, after the Swiss fighter decided to mix it in the fourth round it was not long before a solid right had opened a bad cut over his eyebrow. With the doctor insisting that the injury was too bad for Chervet to continue, the referee halted the fight before the bell went for the fifth.
