1973-10-13 Rafael Herrera w pts 15 Venice Borkhorsor, Inglewood Forum, Los Angeles, California, USA - WBC. Referee: Larry Rozadilla. Scorecards: 143-141, 144-142, 141-145. Most people thought that Borkorsor (117¾) should have won, despite a seventh-round knockdown, his southpaw skills and speed seemingly too much for Herrera (118) who was often left-hooked around the ring in the earlier sessions. At the final bell the stylish challenger was unmarked, while Herrera had both eyes badly damaged, having come back strongly to make up ground over the last five or six rounds.
