1974-03-26 George Foreman w rsc 2 (15) Ken Norton, The Polyhedron, Caracas, Venezuela - WORLD. Referee: Jimmy Rondeau. Having been wobbled a couple of times and seen his best punches bounce of the champion, things looked ominous for Norton (212¾) when he went back to his corner at the end of the first round. Coming out to finish his rival off in the second, Foreman (224¾) soon got his big punches off and after dropping Norton for ‘eight’ following three crashing right uppercuts he pushed the latter over. Not counted as a knockdown, Norton was quickly back on his feet before being bowled over by a right-left to the jaw, his head striking the floor heavily, and although he made it at ‘nine’ he was stopped on the two-minute mark when reeling helplessly against the ropes.
