1975-06-05 Guts Ishimatsu w pts 15 Tury Pineda, Kinki University Memorial Hall, Osaka, Japan - WBC. Referee: Jim Scaramosy. Scorecards: 148-144, 148-147, 148-145. In a return match, once again Pineda (133) chased the champion throughout, throwing short, hurtful punches following a quiet first round in which both men had taken a careful look at each other. It was Ishimatsu (133) who took the initiative, using his better footwork and firing in one-twos against a man who knew only one way of fighting, which was non-stop. By the 11th it was an all-out war and as the rounds diminished Ishimatsu began to assert his authority more and started to attack Pineda, but the Mexican would not be moved and stood his ground. Although Ishimatsu received the decision it had been another tough one and one that either man could have won.
