1975-09-13 [[Luis Estaba]] w co 4 (15) [[Rafael Lovera]], New Circus Bullring, Caracas, Venezuela - WBC. Referee: Anselmo Escobedo. Contested for the vacant title after Franco Udella was unable to defend within a specified time, it was later learned that Lovera had never boxed as a professional and that his record of 18 wins and two draws had been invented. It soon became clear that Lovera (107¼) was limited as the experienced Estaba (107), a pro since 1967, boxed rings around him before knocking his man down for ‘five’ with a straight left in the third session. Coming out for the fourth, Estaba unleashed volleys of lefts and rights to the head of the still dazed Lovera, and the latter was eventually counted out towards the end of the round after being dropped heavily.
