1975-09-13 Victor Galindez w pts 15 Pierre Fourie, Rand Stadium, Johannesburg, South Africa - WBA. Referee: Waldemar Schmidt. This was the fourth occasion that Fourie (174½) had challenged for a world title and for this one he decided to change his style in an effort to get more power in his punches. Level at the end of the fifth, Galindez (175) began to warm to the task, swinging in punches from both hands, and although Fourie stayed with him the champion won the tenth, 11th and 12th by sheer belligerence. The 13th saw Fourie come back into it and next two sessions had him matching Galindez punch for punch right through to the final bell. Although the scores were not given out, the result was announced as being a split decision win for the champion.
