1975-10-07 Erbito Salavarria w pts 15 Susumu Hanagata, The Gym, Yokohama, Japan - WBA. Referee: Waldemar Schmidt. Scorecards: 71-68, 74-72, 73-74. Over 15 very fast rounds, Salavarria (111) well earned the decision against Hanagata (111½) in a return bout that was called for after their first go ended in a riot. The challenger was the main aggressor and in general made the running, but Salavarria showed an excellent defence and countered well to tot up the points, occasionally breaking out in a two-fisted fashion to catch the eye of the judges.
